“Crystals are living beings at the beginning of creation.” – Nikola Tesla
Glittering and glorious, crystals have captured humankind’s imagination for thousands of years. But do their qualities go way beyond their beauty?
History ties the origin of crystal healing all the way back to ancient Egyptians, Indians, and Greeks. This ancient practice of using precious stones and crystals as aids for healing and protecting our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing has had an enthusiastic revival in recent times as a form of alternative treatment.
In last week’s blog, we kicked off our EMF Protection Crystals series and spoke about 5 amazing crystals that have the power to bring imbalanced external radiation into harmony with our inner energy fields. We will now be exploring each of these protection crystals to give them the attention they deserve, starting with Shungite.
Brief History of Shungite
The opening quote by the legendary Nikola Tesla aptly describes Shungite - a unique, ancient, and extremely rare stone. The fact that this stone is believed to be a staggering 2 billion years old means that it was around before any organic life existed on earth!
This rare black stone from Shun’ga village in Russia has long been an object of intrigue and fascination. No one knows for certain where it came from, but several theories have been put forward to explain its origins. Some experts believe the Shungite deposit to be composed of layers of decayed organic remains, while others claim it to have come from outer space through a large meteorite collision.
Shungite’s incredibly unique composition has more than 98% carbon. It also contains fullerenes, which is a special type of carbon nanostructure (CNS), as well as nearly every mineral on the periodic table.
Despite having being around forever, modern research is just waking up to the amazing qualities of Shungite and many seekers are testing whether it brings our body in balance when it is exposed to EMF.
Shungite Stone and EMF Radiation
The role played by Shungite in restoring balance in our body in response to EMF radiation has been supported by a 2003 study on rats. According to this study, Shungite was able to shield the rats and mitigate the effects of high-frequency electromagnetic radiation by absorbing it. However it's important to bear in mind that in 2003 the levels of EMF radiation were far lower than they are now.
But what is the quality that makes Shungite effective in harmonizing these radiations? Along with its 98% carbon composition, it is said that the hollow structure of fullerene in this stone gives it this special capability.
However, an important note: Although Shungite has been found to be an effective stone in harmonizing ambient EMF radiation found in our environment, its effectiveness may be limited against direct sources of high EMF radiation such as smartphones, wireless routers, or laptops. Modern devices all carry a very high level of Radiofrequency Radiation and so it is always our advice that you test any 'harmonizer' solution on the body with the latest equipment in hand.
If you’re choosing Shungite to use as a level of ambient protection, make sure that you’re purchasing it from a supplier you can trust. This is a very rare stone and it’s vital to ensure its authenticity because a fake or a heavily diluted mineral will not offer the same level of protection.
How To Use Shungite Stone
To tap into its protective abilities against EMF, simply place it near electronic devices that are known to emit wireless radiations. There are several ways and forms in which a Shungite can be used to bring balance to the imbalanced electrical wave fields of EMF radiation.
Shungite Pyramid: A pyramid-shaped Shungite is known to be quite useful when it comes to harmonizing ambient EMF radiation from multiple directions, thanks to the energy field emitted by the stone. Placing a Shungite pyramid near the source of EMF radiation is ideal to gain maximum benefits.
Shungite Jewelry: For on-the-go and round-the-clock action against ambient radiation, wearing a piece of jewelry crafted out of Shungite makes sense.
Shungite Tiles: If you’d like to incorporate Shungite’s protective qualities into the walls of your home, then you could consider enhancing your home decor with Shungite tiles. These tiles come in both unpolished and polished variants, and can be used for walls or floors. Other home furnishing alternatives include a Shungite tabletop for your workstation.
Other Benefits of Shungite
Way before Shungite’s EMF-balancing qualities were discovered, this enigmatic stone was already well-known for its many benefits to our physical and emotional health:
- Destroys Bacteria and Viruses: Fullerenes found in Shungite have been known to break down cell walls of harmful pathogens like bacteria and viruses. It also boasts anti-microbial properties.
- Purifies Water: The ancient practice of infusing Shungite with water for filtration has been backed by two recent studies. A 2018 study found that the stone can purify water by acting against contaminants and pesticides. Another study done in 2017 stated that carbon in Shungite can eliminate radioactive compounds from water.
- A Spiritual Healing Tool: Shungite’s powerful alignment with the Root, the Sacral, and the Solar Plexus Chakra renders it effective in supporting a physical and emotional balance while increasing mental clarity and blocking negative thoughts.
- Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory Properties: A 2017 study on mice revealed that in addition to antimicrobial and purification properties, Shungite also helps in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.
If stones could speak, imagine the tales they could tell us! But while they cannot speak, they are still alive with astounding healing powers.
Shungite’s qualities tell us that nature’s healing powers come in many different forms - and who knows how many more wonders are still waiting to be discovered?
